Certified Family Law Specialist
Attorney Shirin Asgari has a broad spectrum of legal experience and has handled matters in family law, estate planning, criminal law, and national security law. Shirin joined Griffith, Young & Lass in 2016 and focuses on family law and estate planning matters. She is a strong advocate for the rights of her clients and adopts a tailored approach to each individual client and their needs. Shirin has successfully represented clients in a wide range of family law proceedings, including divorce, child custody, move-away requests, child support, spousal support, property and asset division, and domestic violence restraining orders. She also counsels individuals, families, and business owners in the creation of trusts, wills, financial and health care powers of attorney.
Shirin is a San Diego native who is fluent in Farsi. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Professional and Educational Background
Shirin Asgari received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy with an emphasis in Political Science from San Diego State University. During her time at the University of San Diego School of Law, Shirin interned at the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, where she assisted with the drafting and filing of restraining orders and highly contested child custody and visitation matters; with the Office of the Family Law Facilitator, where she gained insight into the inner workings of the Family Court system; and as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Tamila E. Ipema.
